Read this before quoting the numbers
Our sample is companies that people looked up on Registrum. It is not a random sample, it skews towards companies people have a reason to check, and it is not a register-wide estimate. Use it to see the direction of travel, and use Companies House's figure below for the whole register.
Method: we count a person as verified exactly when the Companies House public register shows them as verified, whether an authorised agent or Companies House itself did the check. Companies that are dissolved or otherwise not live are excluded, as are cached records from older versions of our classifier.
Companies House's own figure
As at 30 September 2026, Companies House reports 78.03% of director appointments verified (6,590,959) and 65.56% of individual PSC appointments. The previous quarter, as at 30 June 2026, was 55.33% of directors.

The two figures cover different groups of companies and different dates. Do not read the gap as an error in either, and do not read ours as the national position.
